About Us!
Andy and Becky
We discovered the world of modern jive in 1993, when looking for jive classes for the first dance at our wedding (Andy didn't want to do the usual 'smooch'!)
We soon became hooked ... and in 1996, through his love for music, Andy started to DJ for modern jive classes. Our first dances were held in Southampton at Peartree Hall .. but we soon out-grew this venue. We started DJing at ALN in Portsmouth in 1999... and haven't looked back! Andy is well known for the great blend of music that he plays - from modern chart hits to classic pop, latino to rhythm 'n' blues and swing, and everything in between! Andy is also the regular DJ at Love2Jive on Tuesday nights at Waterlooville Community. Becky is usually found front-of-house at our Admiral Lord Nelson events, or on the dance floor.
Caroline
Caroline joined our front of house team in November 2008. Having been a demonstrator and coach at other modern jive venues, Caroline loves dancing. She always provides a warm, friendly welcome to all who come to our ALN events.
The Venue
Admiral Lord Nelson School has a striking modern design.
The hall is light and airy, and the spacious wooden dance floor is perfect for dancing.
With space for up to 200 dancers, ALN is an excellent venue for modern jive events.
